When Matt Mullengweg announced that Wordpress.com was installing RSS Cloud on it’s 7.5 million blogs, something amazing happened!
All of a sudden, blogs on the Wordpress.com platform became almost real-time. In other words, posts will be broadcast almost immediately; allowing bloggers to both deliver real-time content to their RSS subscribers AND potentially share real-time comments with their readers. The UK’s biggest mobile phone provider is about to be formed, with Orange and T-Mobile UK due to announce their plans to merge. This comes after T-Mobile UK have been locked in talks since July, with the UK’s three biggest mobile phone carriers; O2, Vodafone and Orange.
The new company will have around 38% of the UK phone market’s overall revenues and annual sales of around £8.2bn ($13.5bn.)

The marketplace has been asking for a single version of Windows for a long time. After all, this approach works fine for other operating systems.

So, FaceBook has acquired FriendFeed – But why? It wasn’t for the platform and with a quarter of a billion users, FaceBook didn’t need to buy the relatively small FriendFeed user-base either.

UK hacker Gary McKinnon, has lost his latest bid to avoid extradition to the United States. McKinnon faces trial for what has been called “the biggest military computer hack ever” by US authorities.
McKinnon, who suffers with Asperger’s Syndrome, claims he was simply looking for proof of UFO’s and what he calls clean fuel.

Firefox passes the billion download milestone. Since its release in 2004, over 1 billion people have now downloaded a version of the Firefox browser. Well, kind of.
That ‘billion’ figure also includes people who manually update to each news version rather than auto-update – but it’s still a very impressive figure.
