Firefox downloaded a billion times

mozilla-firefoxFirefox passes the billion download milestone. Since its release in 2004, over 1 billion people have now downloaded a version of the Firefox browser. Well, kind of.

That ‘billion’ figure also includes people who manually update to each news version rather than auto-update – but it’s still a very impressive figure.

Firefox owns 31% of the worldwide browser market

Firefox now has an impressive 31% share of the worldwide browser, with Internet Explorer enjoying around 60%. Amazingly, Safari, Opera and Google’s Chrome browser each have less than 5% market share.

So, it’s congratulations to Mozilla on reaching this milestone.  Nice work guys!
