The biggest tech news story of the week / month isn’t (as yet) even a story – let alone a news story! Everyone has reported on this ‘news’, from; The Wall Street Journal, The BBC and CNET to Techcrunch and The Guardian.
So, what’s the ‘news?’
Steve Jobs may (or may not) have had a liver transplant and may (or may not) be back at work.
How is that news? It’s just rumours at this point – right? If some actual news comes from these rumours, I will write about it. Until then, I wish Job’s all the best for a speedy recovery.

i love how the bbc reported this.
Jobs ‘back at work’.
Like putting the words ‘back at work’ in speech marks makes it alright to report a rumor as news.
Im really glad you covered this bullshit.
Ronnie,
I actually had the same thought when I read that headline too. It’s like they are using the quote marks as a disclaimer. ;)
We are *all* Steve Jobs’ liver today.
I’m really glad you’re on the leading edge of the Steve Jobs situation, Jim (can I call you Jim?). I’m going to have to RSS your blog so I can tie it to my stock positions on AAPL. I’ll have to set a few stop-losses and automatic-buy signals, depending on your latest news on this “story.” And, if you have any insider information just email me – seedyseller@moneyiseverything.com (oh, and, like, I’m on Twitter too, with about 100 automatically generated accounts, but my main one is @moneyiscool.
Disclosure – I do have a position in the stock I’ve referred to here today (almost enough now to buy one of those cool new 3GS’s).
Michael,
PLEASE comment here more often – that was priceless ;)
We wrote a blog post not too long ago about the importance of saying “thank you” to people who comment on blogs. Your thank you really made me feel good. Thanks for the thanks!
