Windows 7 downgrade – Not news!

Microsoft has confirmed that anyone who buys a PC with Windows 7 pre-installed, will be able to get a free downgrade; to either Vista or XP.

Windows 7 downgrade – Nothing new

Although The BBC and others made a big deal out of this, the ability to downgrade is actually a common part of Microsoft’s Terms & Conditions.  Few people, who have used the Windows 7 beta or even read the almost unanimously positive reviews of the new Microsoft OS are likely to want to have it removed from their new system.  Certainly not to have it replaced by the notoriously sluggish / bloated Windows Vista!

Microsoft equals negative reviews

It seems that even when Microsoft come out with an improved OS, the tech media want to bash them. Don’t get me wrong, as a Mac and linux user, I am NOT a Microsoft fan-boy. However, it would be a lot more useful for users, if other non-Microsoft tech blogs, like this one, were a ‘little’ less biased against the Redmond giant.

If it’s from Microsoft and it’s crap – call it crap.  But if it’s a decent, well designed product, be honest enough to admit it! (are you listening Cnet?)
