Twitter is losing too many new users – Neilsen

Research shows that Twitter’s retention rate (the number of new users, who return after a period of 1 month), is below 40%. This is lower than many expected and means Twitter is losing new users almost twice as fast as either FaceBook or MySpace were, when they were at the same stage in their development. It’s with true delight that I report great news, regarding Prof Stephen Hawking’s recent health scare. It seems the genius physicist and mathematician is expected to make a full recovery, after being rushed to hospital on Monday for “urgent tests” following three weeks of illness.

BBC iPlayer HD & Bandwidth Caps are not a good mix!

There are mixed feelings today, as the BBC announce that it’s superb iPlayer service is to start offering HD (high definition) content to UK viewers.

The new FriendFeed beta – Very impressive!

The new beta of FriendFeed was released yesterday and it’s extremely impressive! There are way too many improvements and new additions for me to cover here, so here are a few of my favourites.

What I have found most useful thus far, is the ability to easily track all the conversations I have taken part in, in real time! I leave a comment in a discussion and am then instantly notified, without having to leave the screen. This makes conversations flow with ease and dramatically improves the overall experience.
