Windows 7 release date?

It’s Windows 7 release date rumour time again! The speculation that Windows 7 will be launched later this year, and not early 2010 as Microsoft suggested, looks to have gathered some momentum.  The general belief that the Windows 7 public beta is already pretty stable, has been fuelling speculation of a 2009 release.  This has now been added to, with confirmation from Microsoft that there will not be a beta 2.

Speculation for a Windows 7 release late 2009

The Engineering Windows Blog, reports that the next version of Windows 7 will be the RC (release candidate.)  This means it’s now entirely possible that the release date will be planned for just before the 2009 holiday season!

My best guess? I think it’s going to be available late October.

What do you think?

Expectations are for it to be released just in time for the 2009 holiday shopping season and based on the beta I looked at it is very realistic to expect Microsoft to release Windows 7 to manufacturing by December 1st. Then again, with major releases anything is possible and there is no certainty. Only time will tell.
