My name is Jim Connolly and I helped set-up this blog and wrote most of the initial posts. In December, I saw that the blog was no longer being updated, so I called my great friend Jake Landers to see if I could help. Jake had been running the blog as a fun pass-time, until work commitments meant he was no longer able to commit the time required.
Back in business!
So, I offered to take over the running of the blog and have now invested in the resources that were needed in order to transform thetechnewsblog into a professional tech blog! It’s now self-hosted and free to operate without the advertising and sponsorship restrictions it had, when it was hosted at wordpress.com. WordPress.com provided an excellent service and we are extremely grateful to them.
The readership of this blog is amazing, both in numbers and quality. In fact, many of the best known people in ‘tech news have commented here at some point or referenced the blog on their site / podcasts etc. These include; The BBC, Veronica Belmont, Lance Ulanoff, Cali Lewis, Patrick Norton, Molly Wood, Om Malik, Buzz Out Loud, Jason Cross, Cnet, Natali Del Conte, John C Dvorak, Robert Scoble and stacks more!
So, it’s a New Year and an all new look. With so much happening right now in the world of ‘tech, we just can’t wait to start sharing news and opinions with you!
UPDATE:
The blog will relaunch Friday 16th January!
No related posts.

Well, it it’s good enough for the BBC, then it has to be! LOL Look forward to see this develop.
Looks great Jim. I’ll be subscribing to the rss & Twitter and look forward to reading the tech posts from your perspective.
We believe in you Jim! Rock on!
I really like clean designs.
Good luck on your new start.
Great clean looking blog Jim…nice and easy on the eye, with everything in the right place…maybe some others will see it and have a rethink of their own designs!
Thanks for the feedback!
It seems the clean design is a hit so far. I find that people want to be able to focus on the content of a blog. In my experience, too many snazzy graphics / effects actually makes it harder to gain a readers attention.
Thanks again for the feedback – it’s extremely valuable to me as we go through the blog’s relaunch!
It’s great to see you expanding your influence. Good going – this looks hot! (But why can’t I automatically put in my Twitter ID?)
@BertDecker
Jim – Good luck with this. Am looking forward to what you have in store. Also, great to see you are using the Thesis theme. It’s superb!
But isn’t it too clean? Honestly, the simplicity of the blog design is distracting me from the content. Is it just me?
Raju,
The official relaunch will look a little different – but I aim to keep is clean and clear. Let me know what you think in a few days, I’d appreciate that.
Hi Jim
The blog looks really clean and clear in my iPhone 3G
Insprational!
Sue,
Thanks! It’s been a lot of hard work for me and Mark White (he’s @blogcoach on twitter).
@Jim,
I am really looking forward for the official relaunch. Rock on!
Raju,
We’re pretty much relaunched now!
As the wife of a serious techie and closet geek, I thank you. =) Looks great! and I look forward to keeping up with your and the latest greatest tech news!
This is a customized thesis theme right ?
Rockstar Sid,
Yes. I decided to go with Thesis for this blog. Always liked Thesis.
Good luck with this venture Jim. I’ve subscribed to the RSS feed.
Techandlife,
Thanks – much appreciated!
