Microsoft Surface

Sat here on a linux based PC, writing this post - it’s easy for me to claim I am not one of the world’s biggest Microsoft fans. However, when they get things right it deserves to be noted; and I love the look of the emerging ‘Microsoft Surface‘ technology.

microsoft surfaceSurface‘ allows you to interact directly with a PC (which looks like a table), by moving your hands around the surface or placing objects on it (no keyboard or mouse required.)

So, you place your camera on the ‘surface‘ and it will know what you have done AND download your pictures direct to the ’surface.’ These can then be moved around the screen, resized and shared with people. Ditto with your phone, mp3 player etc.

No cables, no wires, no keyboard and no mouse!

Here is a link to some great video from my Twitter buddy Robert Scoble’s website. It shows him using ‘Surface’ while interviewing Microsoft’s Andy WIlson. Take a look and let me know what you think! Click here to see Microsoft Surface in action.

Thanks to www.gizmodo.com for the picture.
